At ASSA ABLOY, we are seeking to enhance our Access Egress Hardware Team by bringing on board an ERP Automation Configuration Expert who will specialize in optimizing processes within the JD Edwards ERP Product Configurator.

Your role will be pivotal in streamlining operations, ensuring our data is configured to achieve peak performance. As an ERP Configuration Expert, you will assess our existing data extraction techniques across various platforms and devise strategies to enhance operational efficiency in a dynamic manufacturing setting.

This position will report directly to the ERP Product Data Manager and will require full-time onsite engagement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluate business needs and convert them into technical specifications for JDE ERP solutions.
  • Design, test, and deploy scripts primarily using Python to automate diverse processes within the JDE ERP framework.
  • Work collaboratively with stakeholders to pinpoint areas for process enhancement and implement viable solutions.
  • Oversee and sustain ERP system performance, ensuring optimal functionality and user satisfaction.
  • Develop and maintain thorough documentation for ERP process automations and efficiency enhancements.
  • Keep abreast of the latest trends and advancements in ERP technologies and scripting languages.
  • Facilitate effective communication with cross-functional teams, addressing data discrepancies related to the ERP Configurator.
  • Provide extensive support for large-scale ERP Product Data transformations and associated activities, collaborating closely with the JDE I.T. Team to troubleshoot and rectify data inconsistencies.
  • Participate in the Engineering Change Process to ensure seamless integration within operational frameworks.
  • Conduct Configurator data uploads and maintenance to support new product development and ongoing product support.
  • Offer insights and guidance to Engineering and Operations Teams to optimize new process automation releases in relation to Configurator data uploads and maintenance.
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of all facets of ERP Product Data, including Item Master, Item Branch, and Bill of Material functions, to support informed decision-making and operational excellence.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • Prior experience in scripting development using Perl, Bash, or Python is essential.
  • 4-5 years of experience working with an ERP system is required.
  • Proven ability to lead various assigned projects.
  • Demonstrated success in data wrangling, cleansing, and transformation to ensure data integrity and usability.
  • Capability to consolidate information into a clear and understandable format for decision-making purposes.
  • Strong analytical and data management skills with an understanding of production and engineering business processes.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel) is mandatory.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience in Python scripting for task automation.
  • Hands-on experience with JDE ERP.
  • General understanding of manufacturing and production processes as they relate to ERP systems.
  • Familiarity with business processes such as Part/BOM management and Engineering Change management (ECR/ECO).
