About the Role:
Kent is seeking a Project Engineering Manager to lead engineering execution for various projects. This role encompasses the overall leadership of engineering activities for small to mid-sized projects, ensuring performance and successful execution.

The Project Engineering Manager will oversee the development and implementation of execution strategies, manage engineering budgets, schedules, and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical leadership throughout the project lifecycle, from early Front-End Engineering Design (FEED) to detailed design and construction.
  • Define project scope, prepare estimates, and develop schedules.
  • Facilitate collaboration among engineering disciplines to identify critical tasks and ensure alignment with project execution strategies.
  • Promote a positive project culture in partnership with the Project Manager.
  • Lead engineering planning sessions to capture interdependencies and verify milestone dates.
  • Own and manage the project engineering schedule, ensuring proper sequencing and addressing any issues that arise.
  • Encourage open communication regarding project challenges and foster a resolution-focused environment.
  • Ensure alignment among engineering discipline leads and promote continuous improvement in work processes.
  • Incorporate health, safety, and environmental considerations into all designs.
  • Prepare and review scopes of work for third-party contracts.
  • Coordinate interfaces among engineering disciplines, procurement, construction, and vendors.
  • Implement Change Management procedures to address deviations in project scope.
  • Plan and conduct design reviews to ensure compliance with project schedules and company standards.
  • Mentor project staff, providing guidance and technical expertise.
  • Analyze project situations, identify potential issues, and recommend appropriate actions.
  • Collaborate with Discipline Leads to ensure adequate staffing for engineering commitments.
  • Propose improvements in engineering standards to enhance quality and reduce costs.
  • Stay updated on new engineering processes and industry standards.
  • Support multiple office project execution as required.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned within the scope of the role.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering with a minimum of 20 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, including at least 15 years in a Project Engineering Manager or Project Engineer role.
  • Experience managing mid to large-scale EPC projects is essential.
  • Prior experience in Front End Engineering Design, detailed design, and construction of process facilities is preferred.
  • Familiarity with petrochemical projects and experience in the US Gulf Coast region is required.
  • P.E. license is preferred, particularly in Texas.
  • Experience with multiple office project execution is necessary.
  • Previous involvement in FEED and EPC projects is essential.
