Position Overview:
Langan is seeking a Traffic / Transportation Engineer to join our dynamic team. This role is crucial in conducting traffic and parking studies, transportation planning analyses, traffic event management evaluations, and traffic signal/roadway design projects.

Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and execute the planning and permitting of transportation engineering, land development, and infrastructure initiatives.
- Conduct traffic analyses for impact studies.
- Supervise field personnel in collecting traffic volume, roadway, and regulatory data.
- Perform preliminary traffic assessments during project conceptualization to identify key traffic-related challenges.
- Apply engineering principles and advanced mathematical techniques.
- Draft and review reports, including traffic impact and parking studies.
- Utilize engineering tools and design software (SYNCHRO, HCS, etc.) to create engineering documents proficiently.
- Collaborate with team members to prepare proposals and review project budgets and invoices.
- Lead the preparation and modification of engineering documents, including reports, specifications, plans, cost estimates, and designs.
- Oversee or coordinate the work of junior engineers, interns, and other support staff as necessary.
- Conduct field inspections as required.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in traffic/transportation engineering, including traffic impact studies, traffic signal warrants, parking studies, and roadway design.
- Current EIT licensure; P.E. is a plus.
- Proficiency in HCS, SYNCHRO, and the MUTCD is essential; familiarity with AutoCAD and MicroStation is advantageous.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and mentor staff.
- Capable of managing multiple clients and projects while developing and overseeing project budgets.
- Exceptional attention to detail with strong analytical and judgment skills.
- Proven ability to work effectively both independently and within a team.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including public speaking capabilities.
- Reliable transportation for job site access and a valid driver’s license in good standing.
- Willingness to travel occasionally and participate in fieldwork.
- Availability to work overtime during evenings and/or weekends as project schedules require.
