Position Overview:

Adena - Heavy Highway Project Manager

Summary:

The Project Manager is responsible for leading, directing, and managing the daily operations of construction projects. This role is essential for ensuring project success and is based out of Columbus, Ohio.


Key Responsibilities:

• Review estimates prepared by the estimating team

• Assist in the development of project schedules, phasing, and logistics

• Conduct constructability reviews as necessary

• Create bid packages and define scopes of work

• Manage the bidding, awarding, and procurement processes for subcontractors and suppliers

• Oversee the daily management of the project, including:
o Establishing the initial project budget
o Regularly updating project budgets
o Managing change requests and ensuring proper documentation
o Auditing project costs and expenditures
o Overseeing invoicing processes
o Ensuring project profitability

• Prepare monthly project status reports for leadership

• Generate and distribute monthly executive reports

• Supervise the RFI and submittal processes

• Provide monthly updates on project schedules

• Implement quality control measures

• Collaborate with the Superintendent to maintain project schedules and safety standards

• Lead project meetings and document outcomes

• Coordinate work activities among team members

• Maintain and organize project documentation

• Manage all construction-related documents

• Oversee project closeout and completion documentation

• Understand and manage owner contracts and subcontract agreements

• Act as the primary liaison among the Owner, Design Team, and stakeholders

• Mentor and train Project Engineers and Assistant Project Managers

• Continuously assess and mitigate project risks

• Participate in RFQ/RFP responses as required

• Assist in identifying and developing future project opportunities

• Adhere to safety policies to ensure a secure work environment

• Perform additional duties as assigned

Position Requirements:

Adena - Heavy Highway Project Manager

Desired Qualifications/Skills:


• High School diploma or GED required


• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or Engineering preferred, or equivalent experience


• Minimum of 3 years of experience in heavy civil construction, including bridges, road reconstruction, and site work


• Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel


• Experience with VISTA accounting and project management software is preferred


• Valid driver's license and clean driving record required


• Strong work ethic and ability to follow instructions


• Excellent communication and negotiation skills


• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
