We are excited to announce a remarkable opportunity within our Sales division for the role of Vice President of Sales and Marketing.


The Vice President of Sales and Marketing is a crucial role that propels the organization's revenue growth and market presence. This position will be responsible for developing innovative sales tactics, nurturing enduring customer relationships, and leading a vibrant sales team to achieve and exceed sales objectives.


This role requires a proactive and adept approach to sales forecasting, contract negotiations, and collaborative efforts with various departments to ensure exceptional customer satisfaction and operational excellence.


Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer, the Vice President will manage a diverse multinational team, primarily located in the Western United States, leveraging regional insights and enhancing customer engagement.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement strategic sales plans to broaden the company's customer base and ensure a robust market presence.
  • Sales Management: Oversee the sales team, establishing objectives and monitoring performance to ensure sales targets are met or exceeded.
  • Market Analysis: Examine market trends and customer needs to uncover new sales opportunities and areas for potential growth.
  • Customer Relationships: Build and sustain strong, long-lasting customer relationships, negotiating contracts and closing agreements to maximize profits.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other departments such as Operations and Planning to align sales strategies with business goals and proactively manage potential risks.
  • Financial Planning: Forecast sales projections and contribute to the overall financial planning process of the organization.
  • Marketing: Develop and implement brand strategies, oversee the marketing function, marketing plans, and conduct competitor research.
  • Product Knowledge: Maintain a comprehensive understanding of company products and services to effectively communicate all offerings to customers.
  • Team Development: Recruit, mentor, and develop sales team members, fostering an environment that encourages continuous improvement and success.
  • Reporting: Provide timely and detailed reports on sales performance and other metrics for the executive team and assist in the reporting package for the Board of Directors.
  • Operational Efficiency: Utilize the company's information systems platforms to streamline sales processes and effectively track customer engagements. Identify new technologies or improvements that can further enhance the sales process and customer engagement.
  • Industry Expertise: Stay informed about competitor product launches, changes in the competitive landscape, and their impact or opportunities for the company.
  • Compliance: Ensure adherence to industry regulations and company policies throughout all sales operations.

PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS
  • A bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, or a related field.
  • Extensive experience in sales, particularly in the steel industry or related manufacturing sectors, with a proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets while managing a diverse portfolio of product offerings and sales channels.
  • Strong leadership capabilities to build, mentor, and guide a high-performing sales team.
  • In-depth understanding of the steel industry and its market dynamics in North America is preferred.
  • Ability to develop and implement effective sales strategies that align with the company's goals and market trends.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills to effectively interact with clients and stakeholders.
  • Willingness to travel extensively, as the role may require visiting clients, attending trade shows, and overseeing sales operations across different regions.
  • Familiarity with QAD, Cognos, and/or Power BI software and other sales management tools to track sales metrics and customer engagement.

Salary Range:
$175,000 - $250,000 per year.
