Position Summary
The Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) is accountable for overseeing the daily administrative functions of NRG Consulting Group. This role encompasses a wide range of responsibilities, including human resources management, financial oversight, payroll administration, labor relations, and compliance with legal regulations.
The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with a keen eye for detail, capable of fostering collaboration across departments to enhance operational efficiency. The CAO will demonstrate outstanding organizational and communication abilities, thrive in a dynamic environment, and possess a proven history of executing administrative strategies successfully.
Reporting Structure
This position reports directly to the Managing Director.
Key Responsibilities
Organizational Leadership:
- Oversee the daily administrative operations, ensuring streamlined processes and effective workflow across the organization.
- Contribute to the strategic planning and goal-setting initiatives in partnership with senior leadership.
- Manage the operational aspects of headquarters and field offices, including facilities management and support services.
Human Resources and Labor Relations:
- Lead the human resources functions, including recruitment, staff supervision, and consultant management.
- Provide guidance on HR regulations and compliance, including state-specific laws and compensation guidelines.
- Develop and enforce organizational policies and procedures.
- Ensure adherence to collective bargaining agreements and represent the organization in negotiations.
Financial Management:
- Direct the accounting and financial reporting functions, including staff oversight and budget development.
- Collaborate with financial professionals to maintain accurate financial records and ensure operational fiscal health.
Regulatory Compliance:
- Manage compliance with charitable registrations, lobbying regulations, and other governmental requirements.
- Oversee contract negotiations with vendors and manage procurement processes.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in administrative leadership, human resources, accounting, or compliance.
- Strong understanding of lobbying and campaign finance regulations.
- Proven ability to analyze complex data and develop actionable insights.
- Expertise in negotiating contracts and managing organizational resources effectively.
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion.
- Willingness to work flexible hours as needed.
- Experience in a unionized environment is preferred.
- Prior experience with non-profit organizations is advantageous.
Work Environment:
This is a full-time position requiring in-person attendance at the national office.
