Job Summary:

The Office of the Chief Financial Officer (OCFO) is seeking a highly skilled Payroll Administrator to join their team. As a Payroll Administrator, you will be responsible for verifying and processing payroll transactions, including recording and reporting of payroll expenditures for active employees and retirees.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Receiving and analyzing all incoming court orders, levies, or writ of attachments issued to garnish or levy District employees' wages for child support, unpaid taxes, unpaid civil debts or any debts owed to the District of Columbia.
  • Reviewing attached documents to ensure its authenticity and validity.
  • Inputting deductions and any other data into automated accounting system (Peoplesoft) and the automated financial system (DIFS) to ensure proper recording.
  • Ensuring compliance with Federal and District laws governing wage and hour, policies and procedures related to payroll operations pertaining to time and attendance, deductions, adjustments, garnishments, and net payroll.

Requirements:

  • A Bachelor's degree or (2) two years of general work experience performing duties related to providing administrative, clerical and/or financial support.
  • Experience with data entry and general operations of Peoplesoft HCM and/or another automated time and labor system.
  • Knowledge of Federal and District laws governing wage and hour, policies and procedures related to payroll operations pertaining to time and attendance, deductions, adjustments, garnishments, and net payroll.
