Position Summary


Fisker Inc. is seeking a seasoned professional to lead and cultivate a team dedicated to inventory accounting.

The successful candidate will possess a robust understanding of inventory accounting principles and will be responsible for formulating and executing policies and procedures in collaboration with various departments, including Financial Planning & Analysis, marketing, program operations, and finance, while ensuring compliance with internal controls over financial reporting.


Key Responsibilities

  • Formulate and enforce accounting policies and practices aligned with inventory accounting standards (ASC 330).
  • Conduct analysis for lower-of-cost or net realizable value.
  • Oversee the creation of methodologies for estimating warranty reserves and implement key internal controls related to this.
  • Assess the allocation of expenses to cost of goods sold concerning performance obligations for vehicles, accessories, technology, services, and over-the-air products.
  • Manage inventory costing and analyze Bill of Materials (BOM) accuracy.
  • Establish procedures and controls for accounting returns.
  • Design and supervise processes for handling non-conforming parts and any consideration received from suppliers for warranty claims.
  • Ensure effective period-end cut-off procedures for inventories, including in-transit items.
  • Understand intercompany inventory transactions and procedures for eliminating intercompany profits during consolidation.
  • Familiarity with accounting for the impact of foreign currency fluctuations on both remeasurement and translation (ASC 830).
  • Provide all ad hoc information and analysis as requested by senior management.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field or equivalent professional experience.
  • Experience in a public company setting.
  • Background in automotive OEM or Tier One inventory accounting.
  • Proven ability and enthusiasm for developing processes and policies.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and foster a culture of innovation and excellence.
  • Self-motivated individual capable of working within a geographically diverse team.
  • Exceptional attention to detail along with advanced analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • High ethical standards and professionalism, with a solid understanding of CPA standards.
  • Responsive team player with the ability to prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the capability to simplify complex issues.
  • Strong proficiency in computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SAP).
  • Ability to manage confidential information with discretion and strong business acumen.
  • Capacity to thrive in high-pressure situations and meet tight deadlines.

Compensation and Benefits

The expected salary range for this position is $67,000 to $187,590. Compensation includes bonuses, equity awards, and benefits. Employees are eligible to participate in Fisker's equity program, subject to the governing rules.

Fisker offers comprehensive medical, prescription, dental, vision, and disability insurance packages for full-time employees and their eligible dependents. Coverage begins on the first day of employment, with Fisker covering most premiums.
