Position Overview:

The Facilities Operations Supervisor is responsible for leading the custodial and maintenance teams to maintain a pristine environment. This role involves directing personnel and providing training to ensure an exceptional experience for guests and the seamless execution of events. Additionally, the supervisor will assist with general event operations, project work, equipment upkeep, and necessary administrative tasks.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Oversees part-time custodial and maintenance personnel in cleaning and preparing all areas of the venue and its surroundings. Aids the Facilities Maintenance Manager in guiding all skilled trades, maintenance, and housekeeping operations. Supports the supervision of maintenance staff to ensure timely and appropriate completion of internal repairs and projects.
  • Maintains internal documentation for maintenance and repair requests, communicating status updates to all departments.
  • Evaluates hourly labor accounts and assists in the scheduling and organization of labor for optimal efficiency.
  • Acts as a liaison with venue management to report any activities or issues during events that may require attention.
  • Manages the distribution of necessary equipment, supplies, and communication devices from the Operations Department. Keeps track of inventories for custodial tools and supplies.
  • Ensures adherence to established policies, procedures, and budgetary guidelines.
  • Serves as the maintenance staff supervisor during events, possessing a comprehensive understanding of the facility layout to maximize operational efficiency.
  • Participates in the hiring process, disciplinary actions, performance evaluations, and training for part-time maintenance staff.
  • Assists with payroll processes for maintenance personnel.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned across the organization.
  • Supervisory Duties: Responsible for executing supervisory functions in line with organizational policies and applicable regulations, including interviewing, hiring, training, assigning work, evaluating performance, rewarding and addressing issues.
Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • Two to four years of relevant supervisory experience, or an equivalent combination of experience and training.
  • Exemplary integrity and ethical standards.
  • Exceptional ability to foster strong working relationships with event staff.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to maintaining accurate records.
  • Highly organized and self-motivated, with a strong capacity to prioritize tasks.
  • Able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Creative problem-solving abilities.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Experience in the sports and entertainment sector.
  • Background in custodial or facility operations.
Working Conditions:
  • Variable and extended hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Exposure to moderate to high noise levels.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
  • Frequent visual and auditory attention required.
