Core Responsibilities

The primary responsibilities of the Surgical Services Operations Supervisor include:

  • Overseeing the daily management of surgical suites to facilitate surgical procedures.
  • Coordinating shift operations, including staff schedules and resource allocation.
  • Preparing the surgical environment with necessary sterile and non-sterile instruments and supplies.
  • Assisting surgical teams by providing required instruments and supplies during procedures.
  • Supporting patient care by assisting with preparation, transportation, positioning, and draping.
  • Maintaining an organized inventory of instruments and ensuring accurate counts throughout surgical procedures.
  • Conducting staff training, orientation, and performance evaluations.
Qualifications

To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following requirements:

  • Licensure/Certification:
    • Current BLS certification from an accredited provider is required within the first month of employment.
    • One of the following credentials is required:
      • Licensed Registered Nurse from the appropriate state nursing board.
      • Certified First Surgical Assistant from recognized authorities.
      • Surgical Technologist certification from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting.
  • Education:
    • High School diploma with two years of relevant experience, or an Associate's/Technical degree with one year of experience, or five years of applicable experience.
Preferred Qualifications

Preferred candidates will have:

  • CNOR certification
  • Two years of experience in an operating room as a Registered Nurse
