Job Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to design and develop complex medical devices.
  • Assemble and test electro-mechanical products using work instructions and assembly drawings.
  • Prepare and maintain manufacturing documentation, initiate component and material requests to purchasing, and report material shortages.
  • Inspect incoming components and materials, and perform final assembly inspections.
  • Conduct product verification tests according to test protocols and record test data.
  • Provide feedback to the engineering team to improve product design based on experience with assembly instructions and verification tests.
  • Operate and maintain production equipment, fixtures, and testing equipment.
  • Perform prototyping and hands-on fabrication tasks, including operating and maintaining fabrication equipment.
  • Assemble, solder, and debug printed circuit boards (PCBs).
  • Test electronics using multimeters, oscilloscopes, and other equipment.
  • Develop testing protocols for components and assemblies.
  • Coordinate the installation of new equipment and provide training to employees as needed.
  • Maintain inventory of components and testing materials.
  • Adhere to company, regulatory, safety, and production policies and procedures.
Requirements:
  • 2+ years of experience in a hands-on, technician role (more experience preferred).
  • Experience in the medical device field or other highly-regulated industries preferred.
  • Associates Degree in a technical field preferred but not required.
Skills and Knowledge:
  • Excellent hands-on fabrication and assembly skills.
  • Strong mechanical design understanding and intuition.
  • Experience performing and documenting tests according to written procedures.
  • Experience assembling and debugging PCBs and electrical equipment preferred.
  • Ability to read mechanical drawings; drafting experience preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Self-motivation and ability to balance multiple projects simultaneously.
