Key Responsibilities- Operational Leadership: Lead and coordinate shift operations, including scheduling and resource allocation, to ensure efficient and effective use of personnel and equipment.
- Surgical Suite Preparation: Prepare surgical operating suites with sterile and non-sterile instruments and supplies, ensuring a safe and clean environment for patients and staff.
- Assistance during Surgery: Assist surgeons during procedures, providing required and requested instruments and supplies, and assisting with hemostasis as needed.
- Patient Care: Assist with preparing, transporting, positioning, and draping patients, ensuring their comfort and safety throughout the procedure.
- Instrument Management: Maintain instruments in an organized manner, monitor and track instrument counts throughout procedures, and ensure proper cleaning and sterilization.
- Staff Development: Perform staff orientation, training, and coaching, providing input to staff performance evaluations, and contributing to the growth and development of our surgical services team.
- Licensure and Certification: Possess a current license as a Registered Nurse (RN) or equivalent, and one or more of the following certifications: Certified First Surgical Assistant (CFA), Surgical Tech (ST), or Central Service Tech (CST).
- Education: Hold a high school diploma or equivalent, with 2 years of cumulative experience, or an Associate's degree/Technical degree with 1 year of experience, or 5 years of applicable cumulative job-specific experience.
