Position Overview:

We are seeking a Principal Site Reliability Engineer to join our dedicated support team. This role involves acting as a key resource for production support and site reliability engineering (SRE) for our business units' infrastructure and applications. You will collaborate closely with various technology and business teams to ensure operational excellence.
 

This position offers a unique opportunity to engage with a diverse range of technologies and face various challenges. Ideal candidates will possess a strong foundation in either software or systems engineering, with a keen interest in expanding their expertise in the other area or previous SRE experience. We are looking for a systems thinker who can enhance team performance through production insights, operational automation, developer support, and real-time metrics.
 

Key Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in a technology-related field such as Engineering, Computer Science, or Information Technology is required; a master’s degree is advantageous.
  • A minimum of 5+ years of combined experience in Production Support, Development, and SRE roles, with hands-on experience in deploying and supporting distributed multi-tiered systems at scale.
  • At least 2+ years of experience in cloud development (AWS) and migration, with a focus on building and maintaining resilient platforms in AWS environments.
  • Proficiency in software development using languages such as Python, NodeJS, or Java, emphasizing the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and automation.
  • A proactive self-starter who can manage multiple responsibilities effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong scripting skills in languages such as Python and Shell Scripting for automation purposes.
  • Solid understanding of Cloud Computing and DevOps principles, including CI/CD pipelines.
  • Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and related technologies.
  • Expertise in one or more observability tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK/OpenSearch, Datadog).
  • Experience in building and managing monitoring, logging, and alerting services for distributed systems.
  • Proven ability to maintain scalability and resilience in complex environments.
  • Demonstrated experience in implementing advanced observability practices at scale.
  • Strong analytical skills for root cause analysis and decision-making under pressure.
  • Experience in managing large datasets using query languages and visualization tools.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, adaptable to various audiences.
  • A strong desire to learn new technologies and tools to enhance team capabilities.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams, both in-person and virtually.
  • Familiarity with Agile Software Development methodologies.
  • Strong business communication and influencing skills.
  • AWS and AWS/EKS certifications are a plus.

Our Site Reliability Engineering and production support team within Enterprise Infrastructure is dedicated to delivering high-scale, high-availability services through automation and best practices in resiliency engineering.
