Position Overview:

The Opportunity

The Director of Architecture – Workflow Orchestration will collaborate closely with business executives and engineering teams to develop the next generation of our Business Process Management platform, utilized by a large number of associates. This role involves hands-on engagement in creating advanced software platforms that adhere to BPMN standards, integrating various business functionalities such as a new user interface, correspondence management, image handling, and routing capabilities.

As a pivotal leader within the architecture division, you will partner with architecture and application teams to promote innovation, enforce standardization, and implement modern technological frameworks for our clientele. Your contributions will be essential in shaping the product roadmap in alignment with business unit objectives, providing guidance in computing services, platform adoption, and consolidating our initiatives.

Required Expertise and Skills

  • Educational Background – A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree is essential.
  • Over 10 years of experience in designing distributed systems and applications.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience with AWS and/or Azure; relevant certifications are advantageous.
  • Proven ability to evaluate business objectives and challenges, grasp long-term visions, and mitigate risks in crafting strategic technical solutions.
  • Collaborate closely with Product/Application teams for technology assessment, selection, and configuration.
  • Experience with a variety of enterprise technologies.
  • In-depth knowledge of APIs, microservices architecture, infrastructure, data architecture, security, and emerging technologies, with specific expertise in one or more of these domains.
  • Comprehensive understanding of all facets of technical architecture, including operational excellence, security, reliability, performance efficiency, and cost optimization.
  • Strong grasp of agile development methodologies and DevOps practices.
  • Work alongside peer architects to identify opportunities for process refinement, enhance customer experiences, or rationalize capabilities.
  • Ability to operate independently and collaboratively with various organizational levels, including both technical and non-technical personnel.
  • Ensure that technology choices align with enterprise standards and strategic goals.
  • Provide technical leadership and solutions to agile teams.
  • Advanced problem-solving skills and troubleshooting capabilities to resolve technical challenges.
  • Manage complex and abstract problem domains effectively.
  • Exceptional presentation, documentation, communication, and influencing skills for engaging with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience in networking across business units and externally to optimize reusable processes, patterns, and practices with outstanding results.
  • A strong commitment to staying updated on technology trends to adapt strategies and achieve results.
  • Willingness to innovate, experiment, and seek resources for learning and growth.
  • Knowledge of Business Process Management is essential.
  • Experience with Camunda is a plus.
  • Experience in the financial sector is beneficial.
