Position Overview:

We are seeking a Principal Site Reliability Engineer to join our dedicated support team. This role is ideal for a proactive technologist and leader who will provide expertise in production support and SRE for our diverse business units. Key collaborations will involve working closely with teams in Fund Accounting, Pricing, Cash Management, and Trade Operations.
 

The successful candidate will engage with a variety of technological challenges, leveraging their background in software or systems engineering. We are looking for a systems thinker who can enhance team performance through operational insights, automation, and real-time metrics. This position offers a unique opportunity to apply your Cloud, Database, and Middleware skills to enhance production stability and reliability.
 

Qualifications and Skills Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in a technology-related discipline such as Engineering or Computer Science; a master’s degree is advantageous.
  • At least 5 years of combined experience in Production Support, Development, and SRE roles, with hands-on experience in deploying and supporting large-scale distributed systems.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in cloud development (AWS) and migration, with a focus on building resilient platforms in AWS environments.
  • Proficiency in software development using languages such as Python, NodeJS, or Java, emphasizing SDLC and automation.
  • A self-motivated team player capable of managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong scripting skills in languages like Python and Shell Scripting for automation purposes.
  • Comprehensive understanding of Cloud Computing and DevOps principles, including CI/CD pipelines.
  • Practical experience with Kubernetes and observability tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog).
  • Expertise in building and maintaining monitoring, logging, and alerting systems for distributed environments.
  • Proven ability to ensure scalability and resilience in complex systems.
  • Experience in implementing advanced observability techniques at scale.
  • Strong analytical skills for root cause analysis and decision-making under pressure.
  • Experience in managing large datasets using query languages and visualization tools.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to adapt to different audiences.
  • A keen interest in learning new technologies and tools to enhance team capabilities.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams, both in-person and virtually.
  • Familiarity with Agile Software Development methodologies.
  • Strong business communication and influencing abilities.
  • AWS and AWS/EKS certifications are a plus.
