About the Role

The Aquatics Operations Coordinator plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of the Aquatics Department at the YMCA of San Francisco. This position is responsible for monitoring the quality of safety, programming, member retention, and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee facility operations, including coordinating program and operation schedules for the pool.
  • Manage aquatics timecards and ensure the training and certifications of the Aquatics Lifeguard staff are up-to-date and accurate.
  • Provide safe operations in accordance with the association's policies and standards.
  • Assist the Aquatics Director in leading and developing the branch's aquatics programs and staff affiliated with those programs.
  • Perform lifeguarding, lifeguard instruction, swim instruction, or deck supervision duties as needed.
Requirements
  • Minimum 2+ years of experience in Aquatics Operations.
  • Effective leadership and communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Current YMCA-approved certification in Lifeguard with Administering Emergency Oxygen, Lifeguard Instructor, YSLI v.6.

  • 2+ years of supervising and leading teams.
