Senior Electrical Systems Engineer

An Electrical Systems Engineer role is currently available with Belcan. This position requires in-office support and is a full-time, direct employment opportunity with comprehensive benefits. Ideal candidates will possess a Bachelor's degree in electrical, systems, or aerospace engineering and have 3-5 years of relevant industry experience. Candidates must currently hold or be eligible to obtain DoD Secret Clearance. In this capacity, you will collaborate with a leading aerospace firm to tackle intricate electrical systems engineering challenges. Your expertise will be essential in defining and refining electrical system and sub-system requirements, assisting in electronic hardware systems design, and conducting safety and reliability evaluations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist in the design of electronic hardware control systems
- Develop and enhance specifications for electronic hardware requirements
- Ensure requirements are accurate, complete, traceable, and compliant
- Participate in system and sub-system verification and validation processes
- Conduct reliability and safety assessments, including FMEA and FMECA
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Systems, or Aerospace Engineering or a related field
- 3-5 years of experience in a relevant area
- Familiarity with structured requirements documentation tools such as DOORs or Jama
- Experience in creating documentation for sensor subsystems, including requirements flow-down, test plans, drawings, and validation reports is preferred
- Background in aerospace, maritime, or other safety-critical sectors
- DoD Secret Clearance is mandatory or the ability to obtain it
- U.S. Citizenship is required due to the nature of the work
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
- Experience with integration of aerospace control systems
- Proficiency in developing hardware/software interface requirements
- Knowledge of detailed hardware and software electronic system design
- Familiarity with tools such as Jira and Confluence
- Experience with workflow management in Siemens Teamcenter
- Proficient in Matlab/Simulink and Cameo Systems Modeler
- Understanding of design assurance guidelines like DO-254, DO-160, DO-178, ARP4754, and others
Belcan offers a competitive salary and benefits package. The salary range for this position is between $90,000 and $115,000, with considerations for education, experience, geographic location, and discipline.
