Position Overview:
As a vital member of our engineering team, you will focus on the design of hydro-mechanical and pneumatic control systems, utilizing physics-based modeling techniques. Your role will involve crafting functional system architectures and defining the major components of these systems.

Key Qualifications:
  • Expertise in Siemens NX/Teamcenter environments.
  • Proven experience in mechanical design, particularly at the system and assembly levels.
  • A minimum of 8 years of relevant mechanical design experience.
  • Experience in designing and defining requirements for aircraft sub-systems, hydro-mechanical control systems, pneumatic systems, and engine control systems.
  • Ability to conduct trade studies and understand system requirements, ensuring they are effectively communicated through the system architecture.
  • Skilled in planning and executing system design tests, analyzing results to enhance system performance.
  • Proficient in creating and interpreting technical drawings and design intent notes.
  • Familiarity with aerospace industry standards and best practices.
  • Meticulous attention to detail in drafting and documentation.
  • Capability to perform 1-D hand calculations and complex 3-D simulations for performance analysis.
  • Experience in generating solid models using 3-D modeling software for packaging and weight assessments.
  • U.S. Citizenship and an active Secret Clearance or the ability to obtain one.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
Educational Background: A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering is required.

  • Proficiency in DOORs.
  • Experience in creating technical substantiation.
  • Ability to develop components while considering cost, performance, and system requirements.
  • Team-oriented mindset with the ability to collaborate effectively.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes and materials relevant to aerospace applications.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a passion for teamwork in a dynamic environment.
Core Responsibilities:
  • Analyze component requirements and specifications, considering performance, weight, and cost.
  • Utilize advanced analysis techniques, including Finite Element Analysis and Computational Fluid Dynamics.
  • Ensure innovative ideas are captured and protected through appropriate IP processes.
  • Design critical components and prototypes using advanced engineering systems.
  • Collaborate with product definition specialists to create layouts and sketches.
  • Investigate design factors such as strength-to-weight efficiency.
  • Apply engineering principles to address complex challenges.
  • Evaluate the fit, form, and function of components against certified configurations.
  • Work with teams to produce accurate drawings that comply with industry standards.
  • Support technical presentations and coordinate with engineering and manufacturing teams.
  • Ensure proper management of design data and compliance with export classification regulations.
Work Environment:
  • Primarily office-based with on-site collaboration as required.
  • Flexible schedule to meet business needs, including occasional extended hours.
  • Typical workweek of 40 hours with core hours from 9 AM to 4 PM.
