Electrical Engineering Specialist

Join RTX as a Senior Electrical Engineer within our Maritime Defense Engineering team. This role presents an exciting opportunity to engage in a multidisciplinary environment focused on engineering innovations in advanced technologies for military and commercial applications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and test electrical systems throughout their lifecycle, including both system-level and component-level designs.
- Evaluate existing designs and address any obsolescence issues that arise.
- Provide field support to customers, which may involve short-term assignments on naval vessels.
- Act as a representative for Electrical Engineering in customer meetings and reviews.
- Interpret customer requirements and translate them into effective design solutions, ensuring verification through analysis or testing.
- Collaborate within Integrated Product Teams (IPT) to drive project success.
- Offer technical guidance to suppliers and prepare presentations for stakeholders.
- Innovate and implement new technologies to enhance our product offerings.
- Gain hands-on experience with advanced fuel cell technology and its applications in maritime environments.
- Master the Integrated Product Development process by working on complex projects from concept to qualification.
- Enhance troubleshooting skills through field support experiences, including unique opportunities on naval vessels.
- Collaborate with experts across various engineering disciplines to broaden your knowledge base.
- Deepen understanding of industry and military standards to ensure compliance in design and implementation.
- A degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree with 3 years of experience, or 9 years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance.
- U.S. citizenship is required for security clearance eligibility.
- Willingness to travel to customer locations and work on naval platforms as needed.
- Open to working overtime, particularly for field service assignments.
- Travel may be required up to 30%, both domestically and internationally.
- Background in Electrical Engineering.
- Experience with design and implementation of test/production systems utilizing PID and PLC controllers.
- Familiarity with 440 VAC, 3-phase power systems and fuel cell technology.
- Previous experience with the U.S. Navy or submarines is highly desirable.
