Job Summary

This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity to lead the Structure Construction subdivision within the Department of Transportation. As a Principal Bridge Engineer, you will be responsible for establishing policy and guidance, managing capital outlay budgets, and partnering with internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with Federal, State, and Departmental regulations.
  • Manage and monitor capital outlay budgets to ensure effective use of resources.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to achieve organizational goals and objectives.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to a team of engineers and technicians.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve the design, construction, and maintenance of bridges and other transportation-related structures.
Requirements
  • Valid certificate of registration as a civil engineer issued by the California State Board of Registration for Professional Engineers.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in structure engineering, including 2 years of supervisory experience.
  • Experience in bridge design, construction, and maintenance inspection.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
