Join us as a Senior Geotechnical Engineer in our Sacramento office.
In this role, you will deliver engineering and consulting services across a diverse range of projects and clients. Your responsibilities will include leading field investigations, conducting engineering analyses, making calculations and recommendations, designing plans and specifications, overseeing inspections, and preparing comprehensive reports. You will also review drawings and construction to ensure adherence to specifications, prepare proposals and cost estimates, monitor project progress and budgets, and suggest necessary adjustments. Your expertise will be crucial in researching and resolving design and construction challenges. You will assign, review, and assess laboratory or field data for report inclusion and communicate complex engineering concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Your services may be applicable to existing or proposed projects in various sectors, including public works, transportation, commercial, communications, energy, and industrial.
Key Responsibilities:
- Champion safety initiatives for the team, ensuring compliance with safety protocols and fostering a secure work environment.
- Encourage ongoing quality assessment and enhancement throughout projects, maintaining high standards.
- Understand project-related risks and implement strategies to safeguard the company, adhering to risk management policies.
- Provide technical guidance for the successful execution of both standard and complex projects.
- Conceptualize initial designs or investigative approaches for major project phases or oversee engineering efforts on projects of moderate complexity.
- Plan, schedule, and coordinate engineering tasks, addressing conventional practices alongside complex design challenges.
- Review projects that require advanced investigation techniques and supervise the analysis and formulation of recommendations in client reports; provide technical oversight of these reports.
- Lead technical training initiatives and make informed decisions based on the latest technological advancements.
- Drive marketing, sales, and business development efforts.
- Mentor junior engineers and technical support staff on projects.
- Act as an Authorized Project Reviewer.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
- 8-11 years of relevant experience.
- Professional Engineer (PE) registration; California (GE) registration preferred.
- Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
