Job Overview

Position: Beverage Service Specialist

Department: Beverage Services

Classification: Level 8 - Non-Exempt

Reporting To: Beverage Supervisor, D/R Beverage Coordinator

Purpose:

To elevate the guest experience by fostering a lively and welcoming environment. Aim to provide prompt, friendly, and efficient beverage service.

Key Duties:
  • Embrace the business objectives, principles, and standards of Harrah's Cherokee Casino Resort, aligning with the Commitment Code and the Mission, Vision, and Values.
  • Deliver swift, friendly, and professional beverage service to casino guests and beverage servers, ensuring a quick turnover for beverage orders.
  • Prepare beverages according to customer requests.
  • Build relationships with patrons.
  • Ensure cleanliness in the bar area and maintain a well-stocked workstation in compliance with health and safety standards.
  • Accurately operate a cash register/POS system, process transactions, and manage cash and card sales while adhering to financial protocols.
  • Monitor guest alcohol consumption and intervene when necessary, following established guidelines.
  • Comply with liquor regulations set by relevant governing bodies.
  • Follow all regulatory, departmental, and company protocols in an ethical manner.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Minimum of six months experience in customer service is essential.
  • Preferred experience of four months in a full-service bar setting.
  • Completion of a formal training program is a plus.
  • CARE certification is mandatory.

  • Professional appearance and good hygiene practices.
  • Must successfully complete weekly assessments; failure to do so may result in reassignment.
Physical and Environmental Requirements:
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Capability to lift and carry weights as necessary.
  • Proficiency in handling and tapping kegs.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Flexibility to perform various physical movements.
  • Ability to respond to visual and auditory cues.
  • Proficiency in English is required.
  • Adaptability to changing environmental conditions such as noise, temperature, and crowds.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings.
