Position Title: Food Service Operations Supervisor

ROLE SUMMARY:

Oversee the daily functions of dining establishments and in-room dining services.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Ensure culinary and beverage offerings adhere to quality standards and implement changes as needed.
  • Enhance service quality by analyzing feedback and performance metrics.
  • Facilitate discussions among team members to identify and act on service improvement opportunities.
  • Address service issues promptly and follow up to guarantee guest satisfaction.
  • Handle guest complaints effectively and communicate them to management.
  • Maintain adequate inventory levels and assist with departmental reporting and analytics.
  • Uphold high standards of service and cleanliness in the dining areas.
  • Develop and uphold operational procedures and guidelines for food service.
  • Assist in creating and refining menus to maximize customer satisfaction.
  • Prepare staffing schedules and manage station assignments.
  • Conduct pre-shift briefings to relay essential information.
  • Perform end-of-shift financial reconciliations.
  • Support cash handling functions including voids and overrides.
  • Foster positive relationships with guests and staff through warm interactions.
  • Take initiative in creating a positive atmosphere and maintaining enthusiasm in all interactions.
  • Prepare preparation lists and act as a communication link between staff and management.
  • Ensure timely delivery of complimentary requests from various departments.
  • Manage the complete setup and operation of each scheduled shift.
  • Complete shift logs accurately and promptly.
  • Enforce appearance and conduct standards.
  • Deliver exceptional service to guests.
  • Address employee performance matters and provide constructive coaching for staff development.
  • Develop a skilled workforce, establish measurable service standards, and hold team members accountable.
  • Communicate and uphold company policies, procedures, and objectives.
  • Implement service recovery strategies as necessary.
  • Participate in personnel actions such as hiring, training, performance evaluations, and disciplinary measures.
  • Train team members, equipping them with the necessary knowledge and guidance.
  • Ensure timely performance reviews and accurate employee records.
  • Demonstrate effective decision-making to motivate the team and maintain morale.
  • Monitor cash handling practices among bartenders and other staff.
  • Conduct inventory assessments of bar supplies and order replacements as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with local liquor laws and regulations.
  • Oversee the control of liquor inventory.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
  • Adhere to all regulatory, departmental, and company policies in an ethical manner.
  • Promote the business objectives and values of the organization.
  • Poolside Operations:
  • Supervise all activities at the pool area, including staffing, scheduling, and event planning.
  • Welcome pool guests and provide a high level of professional service.
  • Plan and execute poolside events and beverage services.
  • Interact with resort staff professionally to foster a collaborative work environment.
  • Address and resolve guest complaints promptly and creatively.
  • Exhibit knowledge of beverage service techniques and product offerings.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Associate degree in a related field preferred.
  • Relevant trade certifications or training preferred.
  • Two years of supervisory experience in a hospitality setting required.
  • Three years of experience in food service required.
  • RASP certification required (can be obtained within 30 days of hire).
  • ServSafe certification required (can be obtained within 90 days of hire).
ESSENTIAL SKILLS:
  • Knowledge of food preparation and presentation techniques.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software.
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Understanding of sanitation standards and practices.
  • Able to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt.
  • Attention to detail and observant nature.
  • Exhibit teamwork and collaborative behaviors.
  • Maintain a neat and professional appearance.
PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Capable of bending, reaching, kneeling, and grasping.
  • Ability to operate in high-stress environments.
  • Must be able to work in varying temperature conditions.
  • Flexible schedule availability, including weekends and holidays.
