Role Overview
We are seeking a part-time TikTok Content Specialist to enhance our Social Media Team. This role will focus on developing the content and community strategy for TikTok, encompassing everything from filming and editing to publishing. You will be the primary contact for all TikTok activities, including brainstorming storylines, executing them, and leveraging current trends.
The ideal candidate is passionate about creating makeup content on camera, possesses strong organizational skills, communicates effectively, stays updated on trends, and consistently delivers high-quality content. A sense of humor is essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the TikTok content creation strategy, producing on-brand content both reactively and proactively.
- Generate authentic and relatable content by applying makeup on camera, with comfort in appearing in videos.
- Produce TikTok-first videos that align with our messaging guidelines while utilizing in-app features as appropriate.
- Manage the monthly TikTok content calendar to align with broader marketing objectives.
- Prepare engaging content in advance for team review and adjust posting dates to align with trending topics.
- Craft strategic copy and apply relevant hashtags for the Copywriter's review.
- Publish content daily during peak engagement times, pending approval from Social and Creative teams.
- Select captivating thumbnails that reflect our brand and add copy overlays when necessary.
- Host live sessions to support key calendar events or product launches.
- Source trending sounds for content that are licensed for commercial use.
- Capture behind-the-scenes content at events and adapt it for the platform (photoshoots, launch events, store visits, etc.).
- Actively engage with customers on the platform, monitoring and addressing their needs.
- Analyze performance data to refine content strategies and enhance engagement.
- Oversee all aspects of the platform, including content creation, editing, publishing, copywriting, and community management.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required.
- 1-2+ years of relevant experience in a similar role within the beauty sector.
- Proficient in CapCut and Splice for video editing.
- Comfortable on camera with experience editing within the TikTok app.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational, time management, and project management abilities.
- Able to work in-office as needed for on-brand content creation featuring team members.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- High proficiency across all social media platforms, including TikTok, Instagram, X, Facebook, Threads, Pinterest, etc.
- Self-motivated, thriving in a fast-paced, startup environment.
- Passionate about makeup, skincare, and the beauty industry.
- Experience with social media metrics (e.g., Dash Hudson) is a plus.
