Role Overview

We are seeking a part-time TikTok Content Specialist to enhance our Social Media Team. This role will focus on developing and executing content strategies for the platform, from filming and editing to publishing. You will be the primary resource for all TikTok activities, responsible for brainstorming storylines, executing content, and leveraging current trends.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the TikTok content creation strategy, producing both proactive and reactive on-brand content.
  • Create authentic and relatable videos by self-applying makeup, ensuring comfort in front of the camera.
  • Produce TikTok-first videos that align with our messaging guidelines while utilizing in-app features effectively.
  • Manage the monthly TikTok content calendar to ensure alignment with broader marketing objectives.
  • Prepare engaging content in advance for team review, adjusting posting dates as necessary to stay relevant with trends.
  • Craft strategic captions and use hashtags appropriately for the Copywriter's review.
  • Publish content daily during peak engagement times, pending approval from Social and Creative teams.
  • Select compelling thumbnails that reflect our brand identity and add copy overlays when needed.
  • Host live sessions to support significant calendar events or product launches.
  • Source trending sounds that are on-brand and licensed for commercial use.
  • Capture behind-the-scenes content at events, tailoring it for the platform (e.g., photoshoots, launch events).
  • Actively engage with and respond to customers on the platform.
  • Analyze performance data to inform content strategies and recommendations.
  • Oversee all aspects of platform management, including content creation, editing, publishing, copywriting, and community engagement.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • 1-2+ years of relevant experience in a similar role within the beauty sector.
  • Proficient in CapCut and Splice for video editing.
  • Comfortable on-camera with experience editing within the TikTok app.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Ability to work in-office as needed for on-brand content creation.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • High proficiency across all major social media platforms, including TikTok, Instagram, X, Facebook, Threads, and Pinterest.
  • Self-motivated and capable of thriving in a fast-paced, start-up environment.
  • Passionate about makeup, skincare, and the beauty industry.
  • Experience with social media metrics (e.g., Dash Hudson) is a plus.
