Position Summary

The Event Beverage Specialist is tasked with promptly and courteously addressing guest requests for drinks while adhering to Cescaphe standards. This role involves overseeing the service of alcoholic beverages, ensuring that underage or intoxicated guests are not served alcohol and are provided with alternative options. The position demands a high level of organization, cleanliness, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, professional setting.

Events hosted are often formal or black-tie, and the Event Beverage Specialist is expected to maintain a professional demeanor and apply proper bartending techniques. Each team member is encouraged to assist wherever necessary during events to guarantee seamless execution. This role also allows for the opportunity to cross-train into banquet serving if desired. Previous experience in catering or banquet service is beneficial for those interested in this cross-training opportunity.

Key Responsibilities and Qualifications

Product Management
  • Identifies bar-related items from event specifications.
  • Conducts regular pour and taste tests to ensure quality and proper drink preparation.
  • Ensures all beverages are prepared according to established standards.
  • Maintains product freshness and rotation using a first-in, first-out system.
  • Ensures proper stocking of refrigerated items.
  • Completes setup and breakdown tasks as assigned by the Head Bartender.
  • Follows cleaning protocols as directed by the Head Bartender.
  • Adheres to venue-specific setup guidelines.
  • Complies with all relevant manuals, checklists, and standard operating procedures.
Inventory and Equipment Management
  • Keeps an organized storage system for easy restocking of products.
  • Reports any product shortages to the Head Bartender promptly.
  • Monitors guest consumption to ensure timely restocking.
  • Utilizes appropriate tools and procedures for beverage service.
  • Handles and serves products at the correct temperatures.
Customer Service and Guest Interaction
  • Greets all guests in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Engages with guests to review product offerings and suggest alternatives when necessary.
  • Informs the Head Bartender of special requests and follows their guidance on resolutions.
  • Monitors guest consumption to prevent over-serving.
  • Verifies identification to prevent serving underage guests.
  • Reports any visibly intoxicated guests to the Head Bartender.
  • Keeps service areas clean and well-stocked throughout the event.
Teamwork and Communication
  • Builds and maintains effective relationships with colleagues and management.
  • Balances teamwork with individual responsibilities.
  • Welcomes and provides constructive feedback.
  • Prioritizes team success over personal interests.
  • Actively participates in meetings as required.

Essential Knowledge & Skills:

Education: High school diploma or GED

Certificates/Licenses: RAMP Certificate required within 90 days of hire

Work Experience: Preferred 2 years of professional banquet bartending experience; catering background is a plus.

Desired Skills: Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and organizational abilities.

Must be free from illegal drug use and the effects of drugs and alcohol in the workplace.
