POSITION SUMMARY

The Engineering Project Supervisor is responsible for the planning, coordination, and management of diverse engineering projects, ensuring compliance with all performance benchmarks including timelines, budget, quality, and realization of expected benefits. This role involves gathering project specifications, developing project plans, validating cost structures, and overseeing the comprehensive execution of the project. The Project Supervisor collaborates with various teams, departments, and clients to maintain the project's critical path.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Gathers, analyzes, and comprehends project specifications.
  • Creates and sustains project plans, including documentation of project scope, objectives, deliverables, key milestones, timelines, schedules, internal and external resources, project dashboards, etc.
  • Communicates project status, requirements, and structure across the Project Management team and all relevant departments.
  • Identifies potential issues and proposes alternatives based on cost implications, time constraints, and customer quality standards.
  • Monitors the activities of project teams comprising engineers and technicians.
  • Evaluates the project's cost structure and any significant deviations from the approved budget.
  • Collaborates with manufacturing, sales/marketing, and procurement teams in project definition, feasibility, and approval processes.
  • Oversees daily project progress, including risk assessment and problem resolution.
  • Conducts project reviews following established processes and structures.
  • Acts as the primary day-to-day contact for internal project teams, clients, and suppliers on current projects.
  • Participates in project planning meetings as necessary; serves as a subject matter expert regarding workflow, processes, capacity, timelines, etc.
  • Assists in implementing workflow management and reporting tools focused on quality, profitability, efficiency, and productivity.
  • Engages in cross-functional teams to develop and/or adapt processes, policies, and workflows to enhance efficiency, accuracy, speed, and quality.
  • Plans, directs, and coordinates activities of team members to ensure objectives are met. Mentors, coaches, trains, and develops team members.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor's Degree in Project Management, Business Management, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Advanced degree (MBA, Master's) preferred.
  • 4+ years of prior project management experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. PMP certification preferred.
  • Occasional travel may be required.
  • High proficiency in MS Office Suite, Outlook & Internet applications.
  • Strong analytical, prioritizing, interpersonal, problem-solving, presentation, budgeting, project management (from conception to completion), and planning skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills (including analysis, interpretation, and reasoning).
  • Solid understanding and application of mathematical concepts.
  • Ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with peers and colleagues across the organization, as well as with internal and external clients.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.
  • Ability to influence peers and senior management.
  • Self-motivated with a keen attention to detail, deadlines, and reporting.
