The Laboratory Operations Supervisor is essential in facilitating seamless workflow and supporting the organization's dedication to superior patient care.


Key Responsibilities:

Evaluates ongoing laboratory test results by processing samples and analyzing patient specimens for particular diseases or genetic disorders.

Ensures that new specimens are received, cataloged, and dispatched to the appropriate clinical laboratory scientists.

Oversees daily laboratory operations, ensuring consistent quality and productivity standards while addressing service-related issues to guarantee operational excellence and client satisfaction.

Completes mandatory annual competencies for testing systems and supervises staff's timely competency assessments, providing necessary training and corrective measures to maintain laboratory quality standards and regulatory compliance.

Implements quality control and assurance protocols to ensure the reliability of equipment and testing systems, guaranteeing accurate results.
Optimizes workforce levels and supply inventory within budgetary limits to ensure effective resource management.

Conducts and supervises testing procedures across all stages (pre-analytical, analytical, post-analytical) according to established protocols, ensuring consistent and accurate results to uphold the integrity of laboratory testing processes, contributing to patient care and diagnosis.

Offers comprehensive support to staff, assisting in procedures, troubleshooting, and problem resolution, while also providing training for both new and existing team members to foster professional development and ensure the delivery of high-quality services.

Performs additional duties as required.

Qualifications:

EDUCATION: Required:
Bachelor's degree in medical technology, clinical laboratory science, or a related field in chemical, physical, or biological sciences.

EXPERIENCE:

Required:
Four years of experience in a high-complexity laboratory in a designated specialty or subspecialty.

Preferred:
Two to four years of supervisory or leadership experience.
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION:

REQUIRED:
Certification as a Medical Technologist or Medical Laboratory Scientist from a recognized body upon hire.
