Floor Maintenance Specialist

The Environmental Services Technician will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation in designated areas, ensuring adherence to established protocols and standards.
Minimum Education
High School Diploma or GED
Minimum Work Experience
2 years - Experience in floor maintenance and housekeeping
Key Responsibilities
Floor Maintenance
1. Utilize vacuum cleaners for carpet cleaning; employ carpet extractors or bonnet buffers for spot cleaning or thorough carpet maintenance.
2. Operate brooms, mops, and buffers to sweep, mop, scrub, strip, and refinish hard surface floors, ensuring they are sanitized and disinfected.
3. Report any damage to carpets and flooring, as well as instances where stain removal is not feasible.
4. Prepare, apply, and dispose of floor care chemicals in accordance with safety guidelines.
5.
Maintain and store floor cleaning equipment properly; operate machinery as per instructions; replace belts and bags, and perform minor repairs; notify supervisor of any significant mechanical issues.
Safety and Compliance
1. Adhere to personal protective equipment guidelines as per hospital policies, following universal precautions.
2. Utilize appropriate cleaning supplies.
3. Report any unsafe conditions in assigned areas.
4. Follow isolation protocols as necessary.
Room Preparation and Breakdown
1. Move furniture and equipment as instructed, employing proper body mechanics.
2. Execute room setup and breakdown for special events as directed.
Additional Responsibilities
1. Document completed tasks during shifts in a project report.
2. Participate in mandatory departmental training sessions on a weekly, monthly, and annual basis.
3. Use a pallet jack to transport supplies from the loading area to the storage room.
Essential Conduct
1. Arrive and leave work punctually.
2. Attend work on scheduled days without excessive absenteeism.
3. Take meal breaks and return on time.
4. Report to work in the designated uniform.
5. Ensure uniform is clean and free from debris or odors.
6. Wear the complete uniform daily.

Full-Time Salary Range: 37,673.60
