Carpet and Floor Care Specialist - Facilities Management

In a prestigious educational institution, the role of the Carpet and Floor Care Specialist is vital for maintaining a pristine and welcoming environment. This position involves executing a comprehensive cleaning strategy to ensure that all areas are safe, clean, and conducive to learning and community engagement.

Key Responsibilities

The Carpet and Floor Care Specialist is responsible for a variety of cleaning and maintenance tasks, including but not limited to:
  • Thoroughly sanitizing restrooms, including all fixtures and surfaces, to uphold hygiene standards.
  • Cleaning and maintaining hallways, staircases, and elevators, ensuring carpets and upholstery are vacuumed and spot cleaned.
  • Managing the cleanliness of administrative offices, classrooms, and laboratories, including litter removal and upkeep of common areas.
  • Performing routine floor care, including sweeping, mopping, and ensuring all surfaces are free from debris.
  • Efficiently utilizing cleaning supplies and materials to minimize waste and promote sustainability.
  • Requesting necessary supplies and maintaining an adequate inventory to support cleaning operations.
  • Ensuring the security of assigned keys and equipment, reporting any discrepancies immediately.


Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED is preferred.
  • Prior experience in custodial or maintenance roles is advantageous.
  • A valid driver's license is required.
  • Basic proficiency in English is necessary for understanding instructions and safety protocols.
  • Ability to communicate effectively regarding maintenance issues and complete relevant training in cleaning procedures.


Work Environment

This position is designated as On-Campus, reflecting the need for a consistent presence to meet the institution's cleaning and maintenance needs. Work mode designations are subject to regular review to adapt to the evolving requirements of the organization.
