Position Overview
The Floor Maintenance Specialist is tasked with ensuring the cleanliness and upkeep of various flooring types, including both hard surfaces and carpets. Utilizing specialized equipment, this role involves a range of activities such as stripping, waxing, buffing, shampooing, and extraction across multiple areas including offices, patient rooms, and public spaces.

Key Responsibilities
- Conduct preventative maintenance checks on all cleaning equipment before use.
- Secure work areas and display appropriate safety notices to inform others prior to commencing tasks.
- Execute floor care routines, including mopping (both dry and damp), buffing, and burnishing on hard surface floors and stairwells.
- Perform vacuuming, shampooing, bonneting, and extraction of carpets, stairwells, and upholstery.
- Engage in wall cleaning and dusting activities, both high and low.
- Carry out regular restroom and office/classroom cleaning duties.
- Maintain and service floor care equipment as needed.
- Conduct terminal cleaning using UV machines in operating rooms, patient rooms, and communal areas, including the operation of pre-programmed electronic tablets for timed UV cleaning cycles and data collection.

Additional Duties
- Undertake other responsibilities as assigned by supervisory staff.

Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED is required. A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience may substitute for educational requirements.
- Experience: At least 1 year of experience or successful completion of the designated Floor Technician training program is required.

Skills and Competencies
- Ability to read, write, and perform basic arithmetic operations.
- Capability to follow oral and written instructions effectively.
- Proficient knowledge in stripping, waxing, and burnishing floors with minimal assistance.
- Familiarity with operating essential equipment such as high-speed buffers, extractors, wet vacs, pressure washers, and auto scrubbers.
- Understanding of specific floor care processes and safe handling of various chemical agents (MSDS Sheets).
