Job Summary: The Cybersecurity Specialist II role is essential in implementing and upholding security measures to safeguard CareOregon's digital infrastructure and sensitive information from cyber threats. This position plays a pivotal role in influencing and recommending the adoption of effective security solutions that align with organizational strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Security Design and Development: Engage actively in the architecture and upkeep of security technologies, such as SIEM systems, Intrusion Detection and Prevention systems, anti-malware solutions, and vulnerability management tools. Provide expert knowledge of security technologies and collaborate on various projects.
  • Compliance and Standards: Assist in developing technical configuration standards that comply with HIPAA Security Rules, NIST Framework, and widely accepted security best practices.
  • Incident Response: Contribute to enhancing the organization's incident response strategies and provide updates for the Security Awareness Training program.
  • Risk Assessment: Participate in creating evaluations to ensure the security of new software, online services, and third-party partnerships.
  • Performance Metrics: Help establish standard metrics to assess the effectiveness of the Security Program.

Security Management and Operations: Carry out tasks related to service requests, focusing on intermediate to advanced information security activities. Regularly review systems to ensure compliance with established security protocols.

Engage in cybersecurity Incident Response activities, contributing to policy and procedure development, and participate in routine testing and training for Incident Response plans.

Maintain and update security systems, including Intrusion Detection and Prevention systems, anti-malware platforms, and vulnerability management tools. Evaluate applications for adherence to CareOregon's security standards and policies, identifying potential risks and recommending appropriate solutions.

Generate and analyze reports on information security system performance and event anomalies, identifying significant gaps based on findings.
