Transportation Engineer/Project Management Oversight Lead

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Transportation Engineer with a passion for Project Management Oversight to join our team at TranSystems. As a key member of our engineering department, you will be responsible for providing Project Management Oversight for federal clients, ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and in conformance with design and quality criteria.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide Project Management Oversight for federal clients, including monitoring project progress, identifying potential issues, and developing solutions.
  • Work with a range of local, state, and federal clients and stakeholders on large and small-scale transportation improvement projects.
  • Independently perform complex tasks, consulting with Project Managers, Senior Engineers, and/or Senior Planners on problems.
  • May become involved in the management of smaller projects or phases and tasks within large projects, as well as the supervision, coordination, and review of the work of less experienced engineers, planners, and technicians.
  • Consult with superiors and clients on problems associated with technical specialties in engineering and planning.
  • Coordinate teamwork tasks and review progress with all staff and those associated with the project.
  • Organize, attend, and participate in client meetings and interviews.
  • Prepare reports, proposals, graphics, and presentation materials.
  • Offer innovative concepts and ideas to advance projects and the company's ability to perform work.
Requirements
  • 7-10 years of professional experience on a diverse range of transportation-related projects.
  • Registration as a licensed Professional Engineer.
  • Experience in capital projects, construction, planning, public administration, or a related field is desired.
  • Experience in transit, rail, and transportation infrastructure is desired.
  • Project Management experience is required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
  • A strong work ethic and the ability to handle multiple projects in a fast-paced setting are required.
  • Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and various software systems are required.
  • Actively engages multiple perspectives when solving problems, seeks to learn from peers, and encourages reciprocal learning among team members.
  • Actively advocates for full inclusion in the workplace, fostering an environment that welcomes diversity and values equity for all employees, partners, clients, and the communities that TranSystems serves.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Primavera/Scheduling and Cost Estimating experience is desired.
  • Local candidates are preferred.
