Responsibilities

We are in search of a Senior Civil Engineer to provide Program Management Oversight, directly assisting federal and state clients in the management and execution of transportation initiatives.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record in managing multi-disciplinary projects, possessing extensive knowledge and experience in public project management and the project delivery lifecycle.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Engineering design for transportation projects
  • Program and project scheduling, management, and control
  • Budget management and control, including earned value performance measurement
  • Development and management of project cash flow
  • Scope development and control, along with document control and records management
  • Familiarity with federal, state, and regional transportation grant processes

Experience in providing program management oversight for public or governmental agencies is highly advantageous.

While knowledge of commuter railroads, Class I railroads, and California state highway projects is preferred, it is not mandatory.

The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, organized, and capable of supporting administrative processes while navigating technical subject matter related to transportation and environmental projects.

This position offers remote work flexibility for candidates holding a California Engineering License.

Strong listening and communication skills are essential, along with the ability to produce clear and concise written materials.

We seek individuals who are eager to learn, collaborate effectively, and demonstrate a commitment to professional growth.

The primary projects will encompass federal grant-funded project administration, state programs for specialized transportation categories, and transportation planning efforts.


General Responsibilities:

- Follow directives from Project Managers, Senior Project Planners, or Senior Project Engineers regarding assigned tasks and expected outcomes.

- Conduct research and prepare necessary documentation.

- Analyze data to create materials such as graphics and maps.

- Collaborate with the team to formulate recommendations and alternatives.

- Compile and assess data on site conditions and compliance reviews.

- Participate in meetings, documenting discussions and outcomes.

- Assist with project organization and document management.

- Occasionally engage in site reviews and documentation of existing conditions.

- Maintain professional knowledge through workshops, publications, and networking.


Qualifications

- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering.

- California Professional Engineer license.

- 10-20 years of relevant experience, including 5 years as Project Manager for large multi-disciplinary projects.

- Strong oral and written communication skills.

- Proven work ethic with the ability to manage multiple projects in a dynamic environment.

- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

- Familiarity with database software.

- Engages diverse perspectives in problem-solving and promotes reciprocal learning among team members.
