Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Specification Sales Manager to join our team at Acuity Brands. As a key member of our sales team, you will be responsible for expanding and maintaining relationships with influencers and end-user customers in the California marketplace.

Your primary objective will be to promote our products, solutions, and services to generate sales and increase company brand awareness. You will work closely with our sales support team, regional sales managers, and channel partners to achieve this goal.

Key Responsibilities
  • Meet with influencers and end-users to promote our portfolio of products, solutions, and services.
  • Develop and maintain specification documentation and collateral to aid influencers and end-users in specifying and utilizing our products.
  • In collaboration with our sales support team, develop and deliver new product introductions to the market and channel.
  • Lead sales efforts with influencers and end-user customers to position our portfolio of products, solutions, and services.
  • Use external web-based sales tools to target and focus on new project opportunities.
  • Maintain accurate tracking of leads, opportunities, meetings, and outcomes using our CRM.
  • Create and follow up on opportunities with regional sales managers and channel partners using our CRM.
  • Coordinate the involvement of company personnel, including support, service, and management resources, to meet performance objectives.
  • Meet assigned targets for sales, market specifications, and strategic objectives.
  • Proactively assess, clarify, and validate influencer and end-user customer needs on an ongoing basis.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Four years of university or college degree from an accredited institution or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of HVAC and/or Building Automation System sales experience.
  • Sales management experience in a business-to-business environment, partnering with engineers and architects.
  • Exceptional written, oral communication, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and handle various priorities.
  • Personal computer proficiency and excel in MS Office applications.
Working Conditions

This position requires travel. The employee must hold a valid driver's license. The employee shall hold a valid passport. This position may require the employee to maintain a home-based office.
