Position Overview

Community Options, Inc. is a nationwide non-profit organization dedicated to providing residential group home, day habilitation, and supported employment services for individuals with disabilities across multiple states.
We are currently looking for a Vice President of Regional Operations to manage our services in Arizona, Utah, and New Mexico. This role reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer and is tasked with overseeing all operational functions within the designated regions. Key responsibilities include managing executive leadership, developing programs, ensuring fiscal responsibility, maintaining quality assurance, and ensuring compliance with contracts and relevant accreditation standards. The Vice President will work towards achieving corporate objectives while promoting person-centered and inclusive programs that reflect the mission and values of Community Options.
Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the executive management team to fulfill corporate objectives related to growth, licensing, financial management, and operational capacity.
  • Establish and implement both long-term and short-term goals for the assigned regions.
  • Ensure compliance with state licensing and reporting standards across all operations.
  • Engage with state legislative and regulatory bodies to negotiate program details.
  • Oversee financial management for the assigned regions, including budget development and adherence to company policies.
  • Facilitate the creation of local advisory boards to enhance resource development and expansion.
  • Propose innovative strategies, policies, and procedures to improve operational efficiency and service delivery.
  • Identify and suggest suitable grant and funding opportunities.
  • Coordinate fundraising initiatives to effectively communicate the needs of the organization and broaden the funding base.
  • Uphold and enhance the public image of Community Options.
  • Advise on effective personnel practices regarding recruitment, compensation, and performance evaluation.
  • Make recommendations for program enhancements.
  • Prepare necessary statistical, financial, and service reports as required.
  • Engage with local, state, and governmental agencies as needed.
  • Support compliance with inspections, inquiries, or investigations by relevant authorities.
  • Continuously seek knowledge from professional sources to enhance expertise.
  • Participate in board meetings as required.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the President/CEO.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree is required; a master's degree in a related field is preferred.
  • A minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in administrative and supervisory roles.
  • Completion of First Aid, CPR, OSHA, and Medication Certification courses within the first 90 days of employment, along with any necessary state training.
  • Completion of Community Options orientation.
  • A valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
  • A strong commitment to community-based support for individuals with disabilities.
  • Familiarity with organizational dynamics.
  • Knowledge of funding sources and entitlement programs.
  • Ability to engage effectively with various stakeholders, including management, employees, board members, auditors, and industry associations.
  • Proficient in presenting facts and recommendations clearly in both oral and written formats.
  • Exceptional time management abilities.

Work Environment

  • This position requires frequent travel within the designated regions, with approximately 65% travel expected.
  • Occasional physical exertion may be necessary when assisting consumers or handling equipment.
  • Occasional transportation of individuals with disabilities may be required.
  • Availability for on-call emergencies, in collaboration with other agency staff.
  • Work will occur in community settings and within Community Options' facilities.
  • Exposure to various medical conditions and communicable diseases may occur.
