Job Purpose and Impact:
The Manufacturing Process Optimization Engineer at MDA Edge will utilize engineering methodologies to enhance intricate production processes and products.
In this capacity, you will deliver technical assistance, operational expertise, continuous enhancement, and project management capabilities, becoming an integral member of a team addressing complex challenges within the operational domain.
Your role will include overseeing external contractors engaged at the site, aiming to enhance the stability, capability, and availability of processes while minimizing variability and mitigating risks in the operational sphere.
You will provide insights that empower the operational area to meet both variable and fixed cost targets, as well as operational efficiency goals, all while safeguarding our personnel, communities, the environment, and assets, and fulfilling our business commitments.
Key Accountabilities:
Gather and assess intricate operational data and trends, offering recommendations and strategies to enhance the performance and reporting processes of manufacturing equipment and systems, ensuring consistent monitoring and early warning indicators.
Collaborate with maintenance leadership to plan, suggest, and schedule maintenance for complex plant systems utilizing reliability models and predictive technologies.
Partner with internal technology and finance operations stakeholders to oversee and manage variable and fixed costs at the site. Plan and supervise production shutdowns, ensuring compliance with legal and preventive maintenance requirements for manufacturing equipment.Work alongside manufacturing technology engineers to evaluate capital expenditures and complex project designs, seeking more efficient, cost-effective solutions that promote higher quality and reliable outcomes.
Provide oversight to third-party personnel, establishing priorities, monitoring safety, and enhancing their skills over time.Collaborate with relevant personnel from other departments within the site or across the organization to recommend benchmark practices and develop strategies.
You will operate with minimal supervision, independently addressing complex issues while escalating only the most intricate matters to higher-level staff.
Other duties as assigned.Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience. Comprehensive knowledge of engineering principles is essential.
Minimum of four years of related work experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Familiarity with operational data technology portfolios. Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification. Strong project management skills and experience. Proficient data analysis capabilities, including experience or certifications in continuous improvement.
