Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated professional to enhance our safety initiatives at Decore-ative Specialties. This role is pivotal in fostering a robust safety culture within our organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducts thorough assessments, inspections, and documentation related to workplace safety.
  • Coordinates and executes safety training programs, ensuring adherence to Federal, State, and internal policies.
  • Identifies and rectifies unsafe working conditions, tracking the resolution of safety-related issues.
  • Investigates safety complaints and incidents, providing detailed reports and recommendations for future prevention.
  • Acts as a first responder for minor injuries and assists in emergency situations as needed.
  • Ensures compliance with safety protocols and proper use of safety equipment.
  • Addresses recurring safety violations and suggests appropriate corrective actions.
  • Performs regular inspections of the facility to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
  • Communicates safety violations to management promptly.
  • Manages reporting of work-related injuries to the appropriate insurance carriers.
  • Facilitates safety training sessions on various compliance topics, including Lock Out/Tag Out and Hazard Communication.
  • Develops specialized training programs for specific processes or equipment as required.
  • Conducts investigations related to workers' compensation claims and coordinates with insurance providers.
  • Leads New Hire Safety Orientation Training.
  • Oversees machine operation training for various equipment.
  • Manages the daily operations of our Safety Incentive Programs.
  • Performs general human resources functions, including employee relations and onboarding.
  • Supports departmental and organizational initiatives, including continuous improvement projects.
  • Ensures environmental compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Handles reporting and testing for safety systems and equipment.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Environmental Health and Safety or related field.
  • Certifications in CPR and First Aid.
  • Proficient in computer applications.
  • Experience as an Industrial Truck Instructor is preferred.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is an advantage.
  • Familiarity with OSHA regulations is essential.
