POSITION SUMMARY:

The Raw Materials Coordinator is responsible for ensuring precise inventory management, overseeing the receipt of raw materials and products into the ERP system, and issuing the necessary materials for production. This role involves transporting production items and other materials from the manufacturing floor to designated locations, as well as storing and shipping in accordance with customer specifications and company protocols. Compliance with DHS, OSHA, FDA, and other certification agency standards is essential. The coordinator will also maintain a safe working environment, operate material handling equipment, and adhere to all company Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Code of Conduct, and Safety Regulations. Timely and accurate order shipping is a critical function of this role.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Safely operates fork lift equipment and manages battery charging and watering;
  • Handles loading and unloading of trailers for both shipments and receipts;
  • Utilizes ERP software for all transactions related to the receipt, movement, and issuance of raw materials and packaging components, as well as staging and shipping of customer orders;
  • Secures trailers with dock locks or wheel chocks prior to fork lift entry and ensures removal post loading/unloading;
  • Installs and removes dock plates, operates dock doors, and ensures security and safety protocols are followed;
  • Labels, stretch wraps, stages, and ships orders in accordance with customer specifications and company procedures;
  • Repackages cartons as necessary;
  • Conducts cycle counts of machine locations each shift;
  • Monitors hard allocation at the start and end of shifts, reporting any discrepancies to leadership;
  • Performs Returnable Transport Items (RTIs) for color, liner, and Work In Progress (WIP) caps returned from production;
  • Loads and unloads shuttle trailers and trailers to external warehouses and other company facilities using the appropriate ERP transactions;
  • Prepares weekly inventory reports for the Purchasing department;
  • Prints shipping documentation, including bills of lading and labels;
  • Communicates with designated carriers to provide shipment details;
  • Handles Return Merchandise Authorizations (RMAs) and Purchase Order (PO) receipts;
  • Responds to inquiries via telephone and manages fax communications;
  • Utilizes box-making equipment or tape guns to create production boxes, ensuring the box maker is adequately supplied;
  • Transfers production items from the manufacturing floor to trucks or designated warehouse locations;
  • Manages scrap disposal using a bailer and changes the bailer when full;
  • Maintains staging lanes with fork lift operations;
  • Participates in preparation for the fiscal year-end inventory audit.
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Adheres to all Food Safety policies and procedures;
  • Follows all Safety Rules, Code of Conduct policies, procedures, and Work Instructions (WI);
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND TRAINING:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
EXPERIENCE:
  • 1-3 years of experience operating a fork lift.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

* Pushing or Pulling (5-25 lbs. typically for a percentage of the day);

* Lifting or Carrying (5-25 lbs. typically for 0-15% of the day);

* Simple grasping (15-70% of the time);

* Firm grasping (15-70% of the time).
