SUMMARY
The Financial Controller will report directly to the Chief Financial Officer and is responsible for ensuring the organization's financial objectives are achieved. This role involves maintaining the integrity of accounting systems and ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Timely completion of month-end journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and bank reconciliations.
- Preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual reconciliations of general ledger accounts.
- Enhancement of internal controls and financial processes.
- Management of data processing operations to ensure accurate and timely reporting.
- Ensuring compliance with federal, state, local, and organizational financial regulations.
- Assistance in treasury, accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, and tax functions.
- Preparation of financial reports for senior management review.
- Support during internal and external audits.
- Participation in special projects as required.
- Adherence to company policies and safety programs.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Oversee and evaluate the performance of accounting and payroll personnel.
QUALIFICATIONS
To excel in this role, candidates must demonstrate the ability to perform essential duties effectively. The following qualifications are required:
- CPA or MBA in accounting/finance is preferred, with a minimum of 5 years of experience in senior management roles within organizations generating $100M in revenue; or
- A Bachelor's degree in accounting/finance with at least 10 years of relevant experience.
- Experience in financial analysis and month-end closing processes.
- Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Ability to analyze financial data and generate comprehensive reports.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Capability to work independently on special projects.
- Familiarity with construction contract language.
- In-depth knowledge of financial regulations and practices.
COMPUTER SKILLS
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel).
- Experience with job cost, general ledger, and fixed asset systems.
- Knowledge of financial and payroll software; experience with Viewpoint Vista is advantageous.

The work environment is primarily office-based, with occasional travel to project sites as necessary.
COMPENSATION RANGE: $110,000-$140,000 annually
