SUMMARY
The Financial Operations Manager will report directly to the Chief Financial Officer and will play a crucial role in ensuring the achievement of organizational objectives by safeguarding the integrity of accounting and data management systems. This position is responsible for certifying that proper procedures and controls are in place to uphold compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), SEC regulations, and corporate reporting standards.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Timely completion of month-end journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and bank reconciliations.
- Preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual reconciliations of general ledger accounts.
- Continuous improvement of internal controls and operational processes.
- Management of all data processing functions to ensure accurate and timely reporting.
- Assurance that financial and accounting operations comply with all relevant regulatory requirements.
- Support in various financial functions including treasury, accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, fixed assets, and taxation.
- Assistance in the preparation of financial reports for senior management.
- Collaboration with internal and external auditors.
- Leadership and participation in special projects as required.
- Adherence to all company policies, procedures, and safety protocols.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Oversee, direct, and evaluate the performance of direct reports, including payroll and accounting staff.
QUALIFICATIONS
To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following qualifications:
- CPA or MBA in accounting/finance, or a related field is highly preferred, along with 5 years of progressive senior management experience in accounting or finance for an organization with significant revenue; or
- A Bachelor's degree in accounting/finance or a related discipline, coupled with 10 years of progressive senior management experience in accounting or finance for a similarly sized organization.
- Previous experience in roles such as Staff Accountant or Financial Analyst, particularly with month-end closing processes, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and payroll.
- Strong understanding of finance and accounting principles, including GAAP.
- Proficient in analyzing financial data and preparing reports, statements, and projections.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey technical information to all management levels.
- Capability to work independently on special projects with minimal supervision.
- Familiarity with construction contract terminology and relevant laws governing financial practices.
COMPUTER SKILLS
- Extensive experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel).
- Proficient in job cost, general ledger, and fixed asset systems.
- Familiarity with financial and payroll software; experience with Viewpoint Vista is preferred.
- Knowledge of P-Vault Enterprise Content Manager is advantageous.

COMPENSATION RANGE:
