POSITION SUMMARY
The Financial Controller will oversee the financial operations of the organization, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements. This role is crucial in maintaining the integrity of financial reporting and implementing effective internal controls.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepare and finalize month-end journal entries, balance sheets, and bank reconciliations in a timely manner.
- Conduct monthly, quarterly, and annual reconciliations of general ledger accounts.
- Enhance internal controls and financial processes for improved efficiency.
- Manage data processing operations to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
- Ensure compliance with all financial regulations at federal, state, and local levels.
- Support treasury functions, accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, and tax-related activities.
- Assist in the preparation of financial reports for senior management review.
- Facilitate internal and external audits as required.
- Lead special projects and initiatives as needed.
- Adhere to company policies and safety programs.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Directly manage and evaluate the performance of accounting and payroll staff.
QUALIFICATIONS
To excel in this role, candidates must demonstrate the following:
- CPA or MBA in accounting/finance is preferred, along with 5 years of progressive experience in senior management roles within accounting or finance for organizations with substantial revenue.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting/finance with 10 years of relevant experience may also be considered.
- Experience in financial analysis, month-end closing, and familiarity with accounting principles.
- Strong analytical skills to interpret financial data and generate reports.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex information to various stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Knowledge of construction contract terms and financial regulations.
TECHNICAL SKILLS
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Experience with job costing, general ledger, and fixed asset systems.
- Familiarity with financial and payroll software, with preference for Viewpoint Vista.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Regularly required to sit, use hands, and communicate effectively. May involve occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Employees can expect a standard office environment with the potential for field visits as necessary.
COMPENSATION RANGE: $110,000-$140,000 annually
