POSITION SUMMARY
The Financial Controller will oversee the financial operations of EMCOR Government Services, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and internal controls. This role is pivotal in maintaining the integrity of financial reporting and data management.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Timely completion of month-end journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and bank reconciliations.
- Preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual reconciliations of general ledger accounts.
- Enhancement of internal controls and financial processes.
- Management of data processing operations to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
- Ensuring compliance with federal, state, local, and company regulatory requirements.
- Support in treasury functions, accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, and tax-related tasks.
- Preparation of financial reports for senior management review.
- Assistance with both internal and external audits.
- Participation in special projects as required.
- Adherence to company policies and safety programs.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Direct oversight of accounting personnel, including performance evaluation and activity coordination.
QUALIFICATIONS
To be successful in this role, candidates must demonstrate proficiency in the essential duties outlined. The following qualifications are preferred:
- CPA or MBA in accounting/finance, or a related field, with a minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in senior management roles within organizations generating $100M in revenue; or
- Bachelor's degree in accounting/finance or a related field, with at least 10 years of relevant experience in senior management roles.
- Experience in financial analysis and month-end closing processes.
- Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Ability to analyze financial data and generate comprehensive reports.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of conveying complex information to all management levels.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently on special projects.
- Familiarity with construction contract language and financial regulations.
TECHNICAL SKILLS
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel).
- Experience with job cost, general ledger, and fixed asset systems.
- Knowledge of financial and payroll software; experience with Viewpoint Vista is advantageous.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
Employees can expect to work primarily in an office setting, with occasional travel to field locations as required.
COMPENSATION RANGE: $110,000-$140,000 annually
