SUMMARY

The Financial Controller will report directly to the Chief Financial Officer and is responsible for ensuring that organizational goals are achieved by maintaining the integrity of accounting and data processing systems. This role involves certifying that appropriate procedures and controls are in place to comply with GAAP, SEC, and corporate reporting requirements.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Timely completion of month-end journal entries, balance sheet, and bank reconciliations.
  • Preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual general ledger account reconciliations.
  • Enhancement of internal controls and processes.
  • Management of data processing operations to ensure accurate and timely reporting.
  • Assurance that financial and accounting functions meet all regulatory requirements.
  • Support in areas such as treasury, accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, and taxes.
  • Preparation of financial reports for senior management.
  • Assistance with internal and external audits.
  • Leadership and participation in special projects as required.
  • Compliance with all company policies and safety programs.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Directing, coordinating, and evaluating the activities and performance of accounting personnel.

QUALIFICATIONS

To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following qualifications:

  • CPA or MBA in accounting/finance is highly preferred, with 5 years of professional experience in senior management positions within organizations generating $100M in revenue; or
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting/finance with 10 years of professional experience in senior management roles within similar organizations.
  • Experience in Staff Accountant or Financial Analysis roles, including month-end closing, AR, AP, and Payroll.
  • Strong knowledge of finance and accounting principles, including GAAP.
  • Ability to analyze financial data and prepare comprehensive reports.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Capability to work independently on special projects.
  • Familiarity with construction contract language and financial regulations.

COMPUTER SKILLS

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience with job cost, general ledger, and fixed asset systems.
  • Knowledge of financial/payroll software, particularly Viewpoint Vista.

COMPENSATION RANGE: $110,000-$140,000 annually
