As a prominent player in the high-complexity, low-volume electronics contract manufacturing sector, we operate across multiple locations in North America and Asia. We are currently seeking a Senior Cost Accountant to oversee all manufacturing and costing-related functions within our business unit. This role will collaborate closely with our accounting team on various initiatives, including acquisition integration, system enhancements, and the standardization of processes and reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee manufacturing accounting and costing activities.
  • Generate comprehensive weekly and monthly management reports focusing on manufacturing job costing, standard costs, and variance analysis.
  • Compile and scrutinize financial data for ledger entries and documentation of business transactions.
  • Conduct monthly financial closings, reporting, and reconciliations of the general ledger to ensure accuracy in cost-related entries.
  • Enhance and implement accounting and internal controls, particularly in manufacturing and costing processes.
  • Maintain and optimize the Chart of Accounts and financial reporting framework to accurately reflect manufacturing costs.
  • Analyze and interpret financial results against budgets, forecasts, and standard costs.
  • Engage with internal and external auditors, providing insights into control deficiencies and recommendations for improvement.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Experience Requirements:

  • Solid understanding of IFRS.
  • A minimum of 5 years of accounting experience in a dynamic manufacturing environment.
  • At least 2 years of focused experience in cost accounting, particularly in manufacturing job costing and variance analysis.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with senior business leaders and a comprehensive understanding of manufacturing operations.
  • Advanced analytical and financial modeling skills, with a strong focus on measuring and communicating financial performance.
  • Proven track record as a key contributor within a high-performing accounting team in a manufacturing context.
  • Experience with Tier 1 ERP systems (such as Oracle or SAP) is preferred.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business is preferred.
  • Professional accounting designation (CPA or equivalent).
  • Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
