Position Overview:
The Senior Process Engineer (Sr. PE) plays a pivotal role within our Engineering Team, serving as a subject matter expert (SME) in the manufacturing of circuit card assembly (CCA) and box assembly. This position is essential for ensuring optimal equipment performance and effective problem resolution in our manufacturing processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Participate in strategic decisions regarding the selection and procurement of new equipment and tools, contributing to the development of specifications and managing vendor relationships.
  • Oversee the change management process for equipment programs, tools, and recipes.
  • Accountable for the commissioning and validation of equipment and materials, including the creation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Establish and define a Preventative Maintenance plan for equipment and associated SOPs.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing quality and reducing cycle times through various methods, including:
    • Analysis of defect data to improve first pass yields and DPMO.
    • Investigation of downtime causes to enhance efficiency and reduce changeover times.
    • Optimization of assembly tools and fixtures.
    • Automation of processes and equipment.
    • Elimination of redundant and non-value-added operations.
    • Maximization of equipment performance.
  • Support root cause analysis efforts in collaboration with other functional teams.
  • Possess in-depth knowledge of solder alloys, conformal coating types, flux types, cleaning chemistries, and other assembly chemicals.
  • Define and qualify new chemicals, ensuring safety, proper usage, and disposal.
  • May assist in capacity analysis of equipment.
  • Provide guidance and coaching to Maintenance Technicians, Process Engineers, Manufacturing Engineers, and Operations personnel.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, or Electrical) or equivalent experience.
  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in electronic manufacturing, aerospace and defense manufacturing, or medical device manufacturing.
  • Expertise in three or more of the following areas: SMT, Wave Soldering, Mechanical Assembly, Conformal Coating, Potting, Re-work.
  • Familiarity with process control methodologies such as SPC, Cp, and CpK.
  • Experience with Six Sigma and lean manufacturing principles.
  • Proficient in Mechanical CAD and/or Gerber software, including AutoCAD and CAM350.
  • Thorough understanding of IPC standards (610 and J-STDs).

Skills Required:

  • Extensive knowledge of industry-standard manufacturing, quality, and technical standards (IPC, JIT, Lean, ergonomics, etc.).
  • Experience with ISO 9001 and ISO 13485 is preferred; AS9100 and/or medical device manufacturing experience is a plus.
  • Ability to interpret a wide range of technical documents, including schematics and prints.
  • Strong analytical skills to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Highly organized and self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • A strong learning mindset and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Compensation:
In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the anticipated starting pay for new hires for this position is between $90,000-$120,000 USD, with potential for performance-based bonuses and benefits.
