Position Overview

As a Talent Acquisition Manager at Urban Ed Academy, you will be instrumental in cultivating a diverse and exceptional group of educators. Your primary responsibility will be to devise and implement effective recruitment strategies aimed at identifying, attracting, and securing highly qualified Black male educators for Urban Ed's fellowship program.

Key Responsibilities

Recruitment Strategy Development:

  • Collaborate in the creation and execution of a comprehensive recruitment strategy that aligns with Urban Ed Academy's objectives.
  • Innovate recruitment approaches to draw a diverse pool of Black male candidates.
  • Establish and nurture partnerships with community organizations, educational institutions, and universities to identify prospective candidates.

Candidate Sourcing and Screening:

  • Design and implement targeted sourcing strategies to uncover qualified Black male candidates.
  • Evaluate resumes, transcripts, and applications to determine candidate qualifications and compatibility with Urban Ed Academy's culture.
  • Conduct both phone and in-person interviews to assess candidate potential.

Candidate Selection and Hiring:

  • Work alongside the Impact & Learning team to develop detailed candidate profiles.
  • Facilitate the interview process, including scheduling and coordinating interviews, as well as providing constructive feedback.
  • Extend job offers and guide candidates through the onboarding process.

Talent Pipeline Development:

  • Formulate and execute strategies to create a robust pipeline of Black male teaching candidates.
  • Engage in career fairs, job boards, and other recruitment events.
  • Utilize social media and digital platforms to attract candidates.

Data Analysis and Reporting:

  • Monitor and analyze recruitment metrics to evaluate effectiveness and identify areas for enhancement.
  • Prepare regular reports detailing recruitment activities and outcomes.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in recruitment, emphasizing diversity and inclusion.
  • Demonstrated success in recruiting and hiring diverse talent.
  • Strong knowledge of talent acquisition best practices and strategies.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Aptitude for building strong relationships with candidates, hiring managers, and stakeholders.
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
  • Proficiency in applicant tracking systems and other recruitment tools.
  • A passion for education and a commitment to Urban Ed Academy's mission.
