Job Title: Civil Engineering Department Manager

Orbital LLC is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Civil Engineering Department Manager to join our team. As a key member of our engineering department, you will be responsible for managing civil engineering projects for our Utility Division in our Hammond, IN, office.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical and project execution oversight for various civil engineering projects.
  • Manage project and resource allocation, ensuring timely completion and budget adherence.
  • Develop and implement policies, standards, and procedures for the engineering and technical work performed in the department.
  • Function as Project Manager and/or Senior Engineer on specific projects as required.
  • Prepare and guide/supervise the preparation of single or multidiscipline engineering proposals.
  • Certify and PE-seal various designs, drawings, and documents as required.
  • Develop, maintain, and upgrade technical standards/specifications to be used on specific projects.
  • Provide enhanced customer support as a technical liaison and support regional business development initiatives.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) License is required.
  • Master's degree, Project Management Training, and/or PMP Certification are a plus.
  • Successful experience in various roles managing engineering resources is also required, preferably in a consulting engineering environment.
  • Superior communication and interpersonal skills with clients and engineering personnel are essential.
  • Project management experience including an understanding/use of project management and project control principles/tools is also preferred.
