• Analyze market trends and consumer preferences to identify potential products and suppliers.

• Conduct competitor and cost analysis to ensure items are priced correctly and displayed accurately.

• Source and procure products from overseas suppliers, considering duties, taxes, and transit costs.

• Negotiate with suppliers to secure the best prices, terms, and delivery schedules.

• Initiate purchase orders for products, raw materials, and other supplies; forecast demand and production schedules.

• Use independent judgment to expedite or defer orders as required based on sales/schedule changes.

• Ensure compliance of quality, safety, packaging, and timeliness standards by overseas and domestic suppliers.

• Obtain samples that match specifications, and evaluate the quality and suitability of products.

• Input/track orders and resolve delivery issues with vendors.

• Recommend advertising opportunities to sales based on inventory levels and purchasing opportunities.

• Assist with periodic inventory counts.

• Manage inventory levels to optimize stock turnover and minimize excess stock.

• Develop product assortments and gift sets, pitch concepts and promotional strategies to the merchandising team.

• Monitor and analyze sales performance to inform future purchasing decisions.

• Own the financial outcomes for the performance of the products.

• Regularly assess performance and revise assortment as needed.

• Rebidding of products increases efficiencies and lowers costs.

• Travel Required: Yes, less than 10% of the Time.

• Other tasks as required by management.

","Qualifications": "

• A Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Fashion Merchandising, or a related field is required, along with a minimum of 5 years of experience in retail buying, or alternatively, a Master's degree in the same field with at least 3 years of experience in retail buying.

• The candidate should possess strong analytical skills and be proficient in using data analysis tools.

• Demonstrated ability to effectively negotiate pricing and terms with vendors is essential.

• The candidate must be capable of working independently and making well-informed decisions.

• Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail are critical for this role.

• Proficiency in the Google/Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) is necessary.

• Knowledge of retail software and inventory management systems would be advantageous.
