Position Overview

The Trayline Associate plays a crucial role in the efficient operation of the patient tray line, specifically focusing on the AYR Cold Starter role. This position is responsible for accurately placing cold food items on patient trays according to the specified orders while adhering to all food safety protocols. Flexibility in scheduling, including availability for nights, weekends, and holidays, is essential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Demonstrate the ability to manage multiple tasks, including patient tray line duties, tray passing, and assisting in the dish room as needed.
  • Possess knowledge of food service regulations, particularly HACCP standards, and the ability to monitor food temperatures.
  • Prepare cold food items and ensure patient trays are delivered in accordance with prescribed dietary requirements.
  • Assist in accurately portioning food items onto trays based on printed orders.
  • Utilize safe knife handling techniques and cutting gloves.
  • Maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization in all kitchen areas while adhering to proper food handling practices.
  • Employ effective communication skills to foster positive relationships with team members and management, ensuring departmental objectives are achieved.
  • Work collaboratively with Leads and follow directions with minimal supervision.
  • Meet the physical demands of the role, including pushing tray carts and lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • Comply with all departmental policies and procedures as outlined in the employee handbook, including attendance, uniform standards, and safety guidelines.
  • Engage in the Employee Development Process through self-assessments, meetings, annual reviews, and mandatory training.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Educational Qualifications
  • Preferred: High school diploma or GED.
Experience Requirements
  • Minimum: At least six months of experience in a restaurant or food service environment.
  • Preferred: One year or more of experience in hospitality, food service, or healthcare settings.
Licensure/Certification
  • Minimum: None required.
